Sick and Tired

I am sick and bloody tired of being labelled an “environmentalist”.

According to every news report I heard or read yesterday the only people questioning fracking are “environmentalists”.

I do care about my environment, and this business is making me look a lot more than I used to at the issues around energy, but don’t stick value laden labels on me please. I am a businessman, just a normal resident.

I am NOT an activist or at least I wasn’t before they thrust this abomination at me. There are many people like me who can simply see that this idea is a disaster for local communities and are prepared to stand up and be counted.

So press – please stop using lazy shorthand. It doesn’t help the debate one bit.

Of course if fracking production does come to the Fylde I imagine I may become a lot more sick and no less tired.
