The National Fracking Gallery – Mr & Mrs Andrews and their well
It seems that a fracking company persuaded Mr & Mrs Andrews to lease some of their estate for fracking. Sadly it seems the business entity which owned the well went bust (although their parent company carries merrily on). Mr and Mrs Andrews are left with the expense of remediation of the site. Gainsborough has captured their very grumpy expressions perfectly don’t you think?
